After the intervention, the craftsman must issue an attestation or certificate of sweeping within 15 working days. This document should be kept carefully: in the event of a fire linked to the conduit, home insurance may refuse or reduce compensation if you cannot present it. The law also provides a third-class fine, with a penalty of up to 450 euros for lack of maintenance. Finally, the so-called sweep logs never replace a professional’s visit; they merely supplement his work.
