Delcy Rodríguez Announces She Has a Health Condition

The interim president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, disclosed this Thursday that she is coping with a health condition, although she insisted that it will not prevent her from “working without rest” for the country.

“The voice falters because I have a health condition. Here I have witnesses, both medical and non-medical, who are telling me all day long that I cannot do this, I cannot do that…,” she stated at a press briefing, offering few further details about the ailment.

A moment later, Rodríguez reaffirmed that this condition will not stop her from “working without rest,” around the clock—morning, afternoon, night and dawn—for Venezuela, in the wake of the double earthquake that struck on June 24 and has, so far, claimed at least 2,595 lives.

“The truth is that I would rather channel my internal pain or health issue into action to help and work for every child, every man, every woman, every grandfather and every grandmother who is suffering, enduring hardship and facing adversity at this moment,” she declared.
