Greater Manchester’s economy is growing, which means we are attracting more jobs, more people and more traffic. This has caused increased congestion that is estimated to cost the city-region’s economy £1.3bn annually through longer commutes, delayed deliveries and increased business costs. Improving our transport system and reducing congestion is therefore one of Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham’s top priorities.
That is why he has started The Greater Manchester Congestion Conversation, so we can build a better understanding of the issue, identify the problems and hear your opinions. Since the launch of the Conversation we’ve already had an amazing response, but we want to ensure all Greater Manchester’s communities are heard – including the business sector.
This is your chance to share your views with people who have real power to shape Greater Manchester’s transport future. Please take a few minutes to complete our survey here: www.tfgm.com/congestion.
Let us know what you think about congestion and how we can tackle it together.
