Manchester’s Roland Dransfield has brought in two new recruits after a raft of account wins for its consumer division.
The agency has won five new accounts including contemporary online modern art gallery Drella and soon-to-open Manchester-based indoor golf club, The Range.
It has also been hired for its PR and digital expertise by The Offside Trust – a new organisation led by ex-footballer Steve Walters and former professional golfer Chris Unsworth to help victims of abuse in sport.
Completing the line-up of new clients, the agency has been brought in to launch playon – an organisation, set up by legendary former Manchester United and England defender Viv Anderson MBE, designed to give new career opportunities to retiring elite sportsmen and women.
The agency has also won the account to handle PR for the First Street Ice Rink – which will open in time to give Mancunians some pre-Christmas skating fun.
To help service its growing client roster, Roland Dransfield – which launched its consumer division in July – has brought in Chidi Onuoha and Amy Buckle as account manager and senior account executive, respectively.
Lisa Morton, Roland Dransfield MD, said: “It’s been really busy here since we launched our consumer arm earlier in the summer. We’re thrilled to have won lots of new business and to be able to work with some fantastic new clients. There’s lots more to come.
“We are a growing agency and we’re really pleased to welcome both Chidi and Amy to the team – they are both proven marketing professionals and we’re confident they will add significantly to our whole offer.
“We’re celebrating our 21st birthday this year and it is exciting times here at RD. We’re confident that we’ll soon be adding more names to our client roster – both consumer and B2B.”
Chidi Onuoha, a broadcast journalism graduate with a background in sports writing and TV production, has joined as an Account Manager from Nottingham-headquartered specialist sports agency Macesport.
Chidi has worked with some of the best-known names in sport, media, leisure, gambling and the arts, including Vauxhall, Nissan, British Cycling, the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA), Brother UK, Cycle Show, Buy Art Fair, Waterford, Wedgwood and Royal Doulton (WWRD) and William Hill.
Amy Buckle joins the agency as a senior account executive from fellow Manchester agency, Label. Amy started her career in London, working for 4 years in the print magazine, digital and ecommerce industries for high-profile companies such as British Vogue, House of Fraser, Bauer Media and Porter Magazine of the Net-A-Porter group.
Amy has worked with high profile retail clients such as Chanel, Mulberry, Ralph Lauren and Michael Kors as well as interviewing and working with high-profile celebrities and personalities. Amy relocated to Manchester early 2017, working for Label PR before joining the team at Roland Dransfield.
Roland Dransfield’s consumer division already counts new Manchester double-decker hotel Crowne Plaza/Staybridge Suites as a client, as well as The Slate Yard – the new Legal & General Built-to-Rent apartments at New Bailey, Salford. The agency’s consumer arm is led by recently appointed head of consumer Adam Moss.
