The Northern Finance Directors Awards programme has today opened for nominations.
Back after a hugely successful first year, the awards recognise the financial stars who are leading the way across the North of England and shaping the future growth of the region.
Nominations are now open and can be submitted via www.northernfdawards.co.uk until July 31, 2018.
The awards are open to finance directors in all industries that are delivering success and new opportunities for their business, whether a fast growing SME or an innovative PLC, as well as for the region as a whole.
Finalists will be invited to attend panel interviews, with the winners then selected by an independent panel of judges including accountancy regulators, business executives, influencers and other leading finance directors. The winners will be announced at gala awards ceremony in Leeds on Tuesday October 2, 2018.
The awards are being sponsored by Barclays, EY and Squire Patton Boggs.
Karen Johnson, Head of Large Corporates for Barclays North West said: “As we seek to grow and the Northern Powerhouse and compete in a global arena, there has never been a more important time to showcase the wealth of experience we have across the North. These awards provide an exciting opportunity for regional companies to highlight leaders in the financial arena and recognise the excellence and talent the region has to offer.”
Giles Chesher, Partner at Squire Patton Boggs, said: “We are delighted to sponsor the Northern Finance Director Awards, which showcase the immense financial talent we have across the North of England. The role of a Finance Director has grown over the years and they increasingly play a fundamental role in not only the success of their business but also to the prosperity of our economy”.
Hilary Heap, Partner at EY, said: “We know that the North of England houses some very talented FDs who are helping to steer companies through a multitude of challenges in their respective industries, showing great leadership for the benefit of both their finance team and their business as a whole. This is a real opportunity to applaud what they are doing and shout about all that they, and the North, have to offer.”
