Manchester law firm Kuits has been advising Coronation Street on a number of recent storylines.
Family law experts Michael Gregory and Madelaine Hailey (pictured) of the firm’s award-winning private client team have assisted writers by providing guidance on issues such as marriage, divorce, pregnancy and arrangements regarding children.
Kuits’ specialist regulatory and business crime lawyer consultant Wendi Bussin (also pictured) has also offered criminal law and fraud advice on upcoming stories that will impact the show.
The firm has been supporting the long-running soap for a number of years, helping its scriptwriters ensure their storylines are as legally accurate and true-to-life as possible.
Family associate Michael Gregory said: “Coronation Street continues to lead the way in delivering narratives that offer accurate portrayals of real-life situations that affect everyday lives.
“The show is a Manchester institution and, as a firm also rooted in the city, it is a great privilege to have been asked by the scriptwriters to help them deliver some of their top plotlines.”
Hanni Treweek, Coronation Street researcher, said: “The legal advice we have received from Kuits has been invaluable towards our research, they’re able to advise us on numerous storylines to ensure we get them as accurate as possible to millions of our viewers.
“We are particularly delighted to be working with a Manchester firm and look forward to continuing the relationship as we work on bringing our viewers some really exciting storylines in the near future.”
