Heavy-weight speaker line up announced for the pro-manchester Economics Conference 2017

Posted by admin on 12th September 2017

pro-manchester is pleased to announce the line-up of speakers set to impress the crowds attending this year’s prestigious Economics Conference to be held on the 13th October at the Hilton Manchester.

We are delighted to welcome back Sir Richard Leese, Leader of Manchester City Council alongside Eamonn Boylan of Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Mike Blackburn Chairman of the LEP and Anthony Light from Oxford Economics.

Now in its third year, the pro-manchester Economics Conference promises to be even bigger and better than before. This year the day will focus solely on the Economic Growth of Manchester and our line-up of presenters and panellists look set to fully scrutinise this topic.

Further speakers include Joanne Roney, Chief Executive of Manchester City council, Mark Gregory, Chief Economist at EY, and Nigel Foster from Transport for the north. Also, set to join them on stage are representatives from Oldham, Rochdale and Wigan Borough Councils plus Alliance MBS, Creative Concern, IPPR North, Latitude Law, Business Growth Hub and MMU.

Topics to be discussed on the day will cover Manchester and the Northern Powerhouse, life after Brexit, housing, key sector growth, employment & EU workers, the skills challenge and connectivity to keep Manchester moving.

“We are delighted with the line-up of speakers for this year’s pro-manchester economics conference, it will be a conference not to be missed. The topics for discussion on the day are current and relevant in today’s corporate environment. It’s great to be involved in the thoughts and discussions and how they will affect Manchester’s growth and economy in the years to come.”

More speakers and themes will be announced in the coming weeks.

The conference brings together more than 300 business leaders and key decision makers each year and provides a great platform for networking, Business development and knowledge sharing and gathering.

Sponsors for the event include Alliance Manchester Business School, Business Growth Hub, Manchester Metropolitan University, 90 Degrees, Latitude Law and Shakespeare Martineau.
