On the 26th April, members of Pro Manchester’ Future Pro Committee – led by current chairman Claire Sofield – coordinated` the very first Manchester Races in aid of their chosen charities The British Lung Foundation and Sam’s Gift.
The event was held at Sedulo’s office on Deansgate who very kindly provided the venue free of charge. With Four Recruitment donating all the food and drink at the event.
Manchester Races was a sell out with over 120 young professionals from across Manchester attending to raise money for these fantastic causes, raising a total of £3280.

“As part of my role as chairman for this year, I wanted to co-ordinate something new, where delegates could have fun, and network whilst raising money for two charities extremely close to my heart.”
Claire picked The British Lung Foundation as one of her charities of choice following the death of her mother to lung disease in 2015, and Sam’s Gift was introduced to her buy a member of staff who had close links to the family who run the charity.
The night involved a number of live horse races where delegates had to bet on the winning horses. Businesses from across the city very kindly donated gifts from House of Evelyn, vouchers to afternoon tea at Gotham and a few gin hampers along the way!
Claire continued: “I’d like to thank the members of the future-pro committee and pro-manchester, who worked really hard to make the night the fantastic success that it was, it was a great final event to co-ordinate as my time as chairman comes to a close in July”.
