Squire Patton Boggs and Edson Tiger are hosting a seminar entitled “A Journey Less Perilous,
International Travel and Operational Security”.
This seminar will provide a practical and interactive approach to
managing the risks of overseas travel for employees – keeping them
safe and, in turn, reducing the risk to your business. The seminar will
use case studies to contrast domestic and overseas law and draw out
the practical implications.
We will highlight the employer’s legal duties in relation to workers
and third parties overseas, give an overview of the pitfalls and legal
obligations relating to driving abroad and the use of economy services
such as Airbnb and Uber while travelling, and conclude with a practical
session on crisis management and business continuity.
Squire Patton Boggs is an international law firm with 46 offices in
21 countries. Our lawyers are ranked by Chambers UK as Band 1 for
health and safety in the UK.
Edson Tiger are international risk management consultants
specialising in overseas travel. They will provide an overview of an
employer’s responsibilities for overseas travel, how to assess the
risk of the destination country reliably, preparing staff for travel and
safe methods of operating within the host country – whether that
is Mainland Europe, the Middle East or destinations of various and
varying risk in between (e.g. the African continent).
